Product Overview

Anti-Mag Elite S2 Controller

Key Features at a Glance:

  • 4 Mouse Click Back Buttons: Replacing paddles, these buttons are more reliable and offer a crisp, tactile response.
  • Mouse Click Triggers: Enhanced responsiveness for precision gameplay, with adjustable triggers removed for streamlined performance.
  • Interchangeable Thumbsticks (Extremerate): Upgrade your control with interchangeable thumbstick options for superior grip and customization.
  • TMR Thumbstick Units: Set tension on both the left and right thumbsticks, customized to your preference for ultimate precision and control.

What is TMR and Why is it Superior?

TMR (Tunnel Magnetoresistance) technology is a cutting-edge advancement in thumbstick performance, offering significant advantages over both standard potentiometers and Hall Effect sensors:

  • Eliminates Drift: Unlike traditional potentiometers, which are prone to wear and drift over time due to physical contact, TMR thumbsticks operate with no moving contact points in the sensing mechanism. This ensures consistent performance and eliminates the need for constant recalibration.

  • Higher Accuracy: TMR sensors provide a higher sampling rate and greater precision compared to potentiometers and even Hall Effect sensors. This translates into smoother, more accurate control inputs for competitive gaming.

  • Energy Efficiency: While Hall Effect sensors use magnets to measure position and can consume more power, TMR sensors are designed to be incredibly energy-efficient. This allows for longer battery life without sacrificing performance.

  • Durability: TMR sensors are built to last, making them ideal for gamers who demand reliability under intense and prolonged usage. The robust design of TMR units ensures they remain accurate and functional over extended periods, outlasting standard potentiometers and Hall Effect systems.

By integrating TMR technology into the Anti-Mag Elite S2, we’ve created a controller that delivers unparalleled precision, reliability, and longevity, giving you the confidence to perform at your best in every game.

The Anti-Mag Elite S2 is the ultimate reimagining of the Elite Series 2 controller, engineered for maximum reliability and performance by removing all magnetic components. This controller is the perfect choice for competitive gamers and professionals looking to enhance durability, responsiveness, and customization without compromising quality.

Customizable Options:

Color Choices:

  • Core Series Colors: Personalize your controller with vibrant Core Series options, offering a fresh and unique aesthetic. (Note: The Core controller is the controller-only option and does not include any accessories.)

  • Sleek Black Elite Series 2: Prefer the classic look? Choose the main Elite Series 2 controller in sleek black, which comes with:

    • Charging Carry Case: A premium storage and charging solution.
    • Long USB-A to USB-C Cable: For wired connectivity and charging.
    • Standard Accessories: Includes interchangeable thumbsticks, D-pad, and tools. (Please note: these standard accessories will be incompatible with the controller after the Anti-Mag upgrades.)
(The black Elite S2 option comes at a higher price due to the included accessories.)

Enhanced Features:

  • Mouse Click Back Buttons: Replace traditional paddles with ultra-reliable, tactile mouse click back buttons. Built for durability and precision, these buttons eliminate the need for back paddle magnets, ensuring interference-free gameplay.
  • Mouse Click Triggers and Bumpers: Lightning-fast response times are now within your grasp. These upgrades remove the adjustable trigger functionality and magnets to deliver seamless, interference-free inputs.
  • TMR Thumbstick Upgrades: Opt for Set Tension Thumbsticks, allowing you to choose your preferred thumbstick resistance for perfect control. Thumbsticks are upgraded to interchangeable designs, offering versatility and superior grip. (This option requires the removal of trigger magnets, back paddle magnets, and the adjustable tension mechanism.)

Why the Anti-Mag Elite S2 Stands Out:

  • Zero Interference: With no magnetic components, performance is flawless and interference-free.
  • Durable Design: Each component is engineered for maximum longevity under the demands of competitive gaming.
  • Tailored to You: Select your preferred color, thumbstick tension, and thumbstick style for a completely customized gaming experience.

Choose your color and configuration today to experience the future of gaming.

Disclaimer:

The Elite Series 2 adjustable thumbsticks are known to wear out quickly and are therefore not warranted by Budd's Controllers. However, our TMR Thumbstick System with Set Tension is a durable upgrade designed for long-term reliability. This system is covered by a 1-year warranty and is expected to last significantly longer under regular use.

Warranty Information

At Budd’s Controllers due to engineering the absolute best gaming controllers in the world I can offer a lifetime warranty on all mod parts and associated repairs not including postage costs. This includes triggers, back buttons and any other part which may fail and prove to be a costly repair at other companies. For drift however this is a known wear problem I offer upgraded hall sensor units which come with a 1 year warranty, so cover for standard Alps is 3 months and over 8% drift, I do offer repairs for $50. All new and repaired thumb sticks will be shipped out with under 4%. Postage for repairs is to be paid by the customer.

What makes your controllers so good?
I design and manufacture 99% of my parts in-house, ensuring top-notch quality control and unparalleled engineering.

This results in controllers with exceptional strength, durability, and a premium feel that stands out from competitors.

This is what holds our controllers above all others on the global stage as our parts and processes are constantly improving, if we think of something better, we will make it!

Why are your prices sometimes cheaper for some things but more expensive for others?

Many of the parts I design and manufacture in-house, which helps lower costs on some items since I bypass middlemen.

However, for certain products like my mouse click face buttons, I use high-quality, long-lasting mouse switches and custom-made buttons to accommodate their size.

While this adds a bit more to the price, it ensures superior durability compared to the weaker switches often found in other controllers.

What is the difference between mouse, mechanical, and tactile back buttons?
-Mouse Back Buttons:
These are adaptations of mouse switches into back buttons, offering a light touch with a true mouse click feel. They are rated for a minimum of 5 million actuations and use an 8mm cap.
-Mechanical Back Buttons:
Ultra-low profile keyboard switches with a 20 million lifespan and an 11mm cap. These buttons provide a smooth, consistent mouse response.
-Tactile Back Buttons:
These are not used at Budd's Controllers due to their poor quality. They are often rated for only 50k actuations and are a common failure point in repaired controllers, second only to trigger switches.

What is your placement for back buttons?
The standard placement is designed to be easily accessed by your ring and middle fingers. However, I am happy to customize button placement based on your preferences if possible. You can upload a photo with your preferred placement when placing your order.

How much does drift repair cost?
ALPS Thumbsticks: $45

HALL Sensors: $65
TMR Sensors: $85
I can also mount TMR sensors on ALPS units to maintain the factory feel while improving durability and precision.

What is a Hall Effect sensor and a TMR sensor?
Hall Effect Sensors:
These sensors use magnetic fields to detect thumbstick movement instead of physical contact. Unlike potentiometers, Hall Effect sensors are not rubbing components, meaning they do not wear out over time due to friction.

However, the internal mechanism (e.g., springs and pivots) can still experience wear and tear, but this typically takes years of use to become noticeable. Hall Effect sensors are precise, consistent, and immune to drift issues.
TMR Sensors (Tunnel Magnetoresistance):
TMR sensors work similarly to Hall Effect sensors by using magnetic fields for detection. However, they offer even greater sensitivity and responsiveness, making them an excellent choice for competitive gaming. Like Hall Effect sensors, TMR sensors do not suffer from frictional wear, and their internal mechanism usually lasts for several years under normal use.
Both types of sensors provide superior durability and precision compared to traditional potentiometers, which are prone to drift and degradation over time.

TMR is the better sensor out of the two but does cost ALOT more.
